Pasadena Man Falls Victim to Follow Robbery After Valentine's Day Shopping

Security Cameras

A Pasadena man was targeted in a follow robbery after purchasing a necklace at Tiffany's for Valentine's Day and then stopping at a flower shop in Covina.

Surveillance footage captured a car closely following him before the robbery occurred.

The thief specifically aimed for the jewelry that the victim had concealed in his work truck, leading the victim to believe that he had been followed.

Pasadena police have encountered similar cases and advised the public to exercise caution when making high-value purchases and to be mindful of their surroundings.

Despite the unsettling experience, the victim expressed gratitude that the situation did not escalate further.

Pasadena Gears Up for 42nd Annual Black History Parade and Festival Celebrating Jackie Robinson's Legacy

National day fireworks

Pasadena is making preparations for the 42nd Annual Black History Parade and Festival, which will pay tribute to the life and legacy of Jackie Robinson. The event is anticipated to attract more than 6,000 attendees and will kick off with a parade starting at Fair Oaks Avenue and Mountain View Street, concluding at Robinson Park.

The festival at Robinson Park will run from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will feature live bands, dance performances, community booths, guest speakers, and food for purchase.

To facilitate the event, several road closures will be implemented, with motorists advised to exercise caution. Free parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at Calvary Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

Organized by the City of Pasadena, Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, Pasadena Public Library, Pasadena Black History Committee, and The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library, the event is part of a month-long series of free programs and activities celebrating African American culture and heritage in February.

Over the years, the Black History Parade and Festival in Pasadena has evolved into one of the largest and longest-running Black history parades in Southern California, typically featuring grand marshals who are prominent figures in the African American community.

Forefront Chiropractic: A Pasadena Business Bringing Relief and Wellness

Forefront Chiropractic, located at 482 North Rosemead Blvd. Suite 110, Pasadena, CA 91107, is a chiropractic practice that has made a significant impact on the local community since its inception three years ago.

Founded by Dr. Labib Damouni, the clinic specializes in the Gonstead technique, a method that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of a patient's discomfort.

Dr. Damouni discovered the power of chiropractic care after suffering from mid-back pain for two years.

Skeptical at first, he was convinced to give it a try by a high school friend, and the results were life-changing. This personal experience inspired him to become a Gonstead chiropractor and help others achieve similar relief.

At Forefront Chiropractic, new patients begin with a thorough discussion about their issues and goals, followed by a comprehensive exam and full spine X-rays.

This allows the team to pinpoint the exact location of the problem and devise a treatment plan tailored to each individual's needs.

Treatments typically involve Gonstead adjustments, posture and ergonomics advice, and sometimes exercises, nutrition guidance, or soft tissue work.

One of the unique selling points of Forefront Chiropractic is its commitment to providing high-quality care at a consistent price.

Regardless of whether a patient is coming in for their first visit or a regular follow-up, the cost remains the same at $60.

In an effort to give back to the community, Forefront Chiropractic plans to offer free chiropractic care to individuals in need on 2-3 Sundays per month, starting in the next 2-3 months.

Those in need are encouraged to contact the clinic at 626.747.3311.

Looking ahead, Forefront Chiropractic plans to expand its business and potentially move to a larger location in Pasadena by the end of 2024.

The expansion will include the addition of soft tissue specialists and a physiotherapy area, allowing patients to receive comprehensive rehabilitative care under one roof.
