A 71-year-old woman in Pasadena was attacked by a man who attempted to steal her walker while she was in Memorial Park.

The attacker allegedly approached the victim with his pants unbuttoned and exposed his underwear. The victim tried to walk away, leading to a struggle over her walker.

The attacker then allegedly attacked the victim from behind, pushing her to the ground and attempting to strangle her with his forearm.

Two Good Samaritans intervened, causing the attacker to release the victim and flee.

The woman sustained leg pain, abrasions on both knees, redness to her neck, and abrasions on her left palm. She was transported to a local hospital for her injuries.

Pasadena Secures $500 Million Power Contract, Aims for 94% Carbon-Free Energy

The Municipal Services Committee of Pasadena has approved a $512 million power contract with the Southern California Public Power Authority.

The contract, which is set to start in 2028, will help Pasadena achieve a 94% carbon-free energy supply.

The deal includes daily delivery of up to 105 megawatts of solar photovoltaic energy and up to four hours of dispatchable battery energy storage not to exceed 55 megawatts during the contract term. The contract has a term length of 20 years.
