Rosemead Welcomes Pasadena City College's New Satellite Campus

Pasadena City College (PCC) is making a comeback to Rosemead with a new satellite campus following the purchase of three properties in the city.

The college's Board of Trustees authorized the land acquisition in November 2023 for a total cost of $13.288 million.

The former PCC satellite campus in Rosemead closed in June 2023 due to the end of a lease agreement with the El Monte Union High School District.

PCC's new Rosemead campus facilities are expected to include classrooms, science and computer labs, and student services offices.

The college plans to offer a variety of educational opportunities at the new site.

Pasadena Fire Department Launches Affordable Paramedic Subscription

The Pasadena Fire Department has introduced a Paramedic Subscription Program, costing only $89 per year, to make emergency medical services more accessible and affordable for residents and their families.

This initiative aims to reduce the financial burden of ambulance transport services, regardless of health insurance coverage.

For more information and to apply, visit the program's website, and for any inquiries regarding application status, contact the customer service hotline.

Colorguard Victory and Varsity Girls Basketball Team's Perseverance at Pasadena High School

The Colorguard team at Pasadena High School had an impressive start to their WGASC season, securing first place in their first competition.

Their victory has set a high bar for the rest of the season, and the team is excited to showcase their talents in future events.

In a separate development, the Varsity Girls Basketball team at Pasadena High School ended their season with a closely contested 47-49 loss to Geffen Academy in the first round of the CIF-SS playoffs.

Despite the unfortunate outcome, the team demonstrated remarkable resilience and skill throughout the game, earning the respect and admiration of their supporters.

Heart Health Month: Pasadena Humane Society Offers Reduced Adoption Fees

In celebration of Heart Health Month, Pasadena Humane Society is offering reduced adoption fees for adult dogs and cats until February 18. Studies show that interacting with a pet is beneficial to our health, both physically and mentally.

Pets not only reduce stress but also lower their owner's blood pressure and provide a sense of purpose and joy.

Adopters living in the Pasadena Humane licensing service area can get a dog license at the time of adoption, with normal licensing fees applying.

Adoption appointments are available every Wednesday and Sunday at 10:00 am, with walk-in adoptions also available daily from 2:00 – 5:00 pm, starting February 5.
