The Healing Power of Orbit, a Therapy Dog at Huntington's Long COVID Recovery Clinic

A 6-month-old Labrador Retriever puppy named Orbit and her handler, Lori, are providing comfort and joy to patients at Huntington's Long COVID Recovery Clinic (LCRC) in Pasadena, California.

Orbit's presence has been shown to have a profound physiological and emotional impact on patients, from slower breathing to a sense of calm.

Lori, a COVID-19 survivor, was inspired to become a resource for fellow patients and brought Orbit along to one of her appointments with Dr. Kimberly Shriner at the LCRC.

Dr. Shriner immediately recognized Orbit's potential to brighten the days of patients, and the rest is history.

Orbit's favorite part of visiting the LCRC is the people, and her mission is to share some magic of her own by reminding everyone that joy can be discovered in small things like a yellow Labrador puppy making you feel truly special.
