🗓️ Upcoming Local Events

Pasadena residents can expect a rainy day this Friday, December 22.

The morning kicks off with persistent rain, with temperatures at a chilly 56 degrees and a gentle wind from the ENE. Rain coats and umbrellas will be the go-to attire for the morning hours.

The rainfall continues into the noon, with a slight rise in temperature to 58 degrees. The winds shift to the Northwest and remain gentle.

As we move into the afternoon, the rain begins to lighten up, with only a few showers expected around 3 pm. Despite the rain easing up, rain gear remains essential for any ventures outside.

The evening brings relief with the rain disappearing and clouds gradually clearing up. Temperatures start to fall, reaching 52 degrees by 11 pm, so warmer jackets will be needed for the evening hours.

Enjoy your day!

Pasadena Fire Department Warns of Holiday Fire Hazards: Statistically, 50% of December Home Fires Sparked by Decorations

The Pasadena Fire Department has issued a fire safety warning to residents for the upcoming holiday season.

According to statistics, candles, a popular holiday decoration, are responsible for half of the home fires in December.

Further, over a third of all decoration-related fires are sparked by candles, with Christmas Day being the peak day for such incidents.

Moreover, dry Christmas trees can burn intensely and rapidly, posing a serious fire hazard.

More than one-fifth of Christmas tree fires are caused by heat sources placed too close to the tree.

To reduce these risks, the Fire Department recommends maintaining a minimum 12-inch distance between candles and any flammable objects, positioning your tree at least three feet away from any heat sources, and ensuring it doesn't obstruct exits.

They also advise following light strand manufacturer's instructions to prevent electrical fires and emphasize the importance of disposing of your Christmas tree once it dries out or immediately after the holiday season.

Pasadena Bulldogs Shine with 11 - 1 Season Record

This victory was one of the three games they won in the four-game tournament.

The Bulldogs are now preparing for their next challenge, the Classic at Damien Tournament, scheduled from December 26th to December 30th.

Their first game will be against Albany High School on December 26th at 6:30 pm, set to take place at the Damien High School Event Center in La Verne, CA.
