As noon (11am-1pm) approaches, temperatures will climb to a comfortable 73° under sunny skies, ideal for light clothing.

The afternoon (2pm-5pm) will maintain this warmth, with mostly sunny skies and a gentle breeze, making it perfect for outdoor activities.

As evening (6pm-11pm) falls, temperatures will gradually cool down to 56° under clear skies. A light sweater or jacket is recommended for the evening.

Pasadena Tragedy: Homeless Woman Sentenced for Foster Mother Murder, Raises Concerns About Foster System Safety

In Pasadena, a homeless woman named Mary Jean O'Connor has been sentenced to a 25-year-to-life imprisonment for the 2018 murder of 75-year-old Jeri Douglas.

Douglas was a former foster mother to two of O'Connor's children. The crime has drawn attention to the issue of homelessness and the foster care system in Pasadena.

After several failed attempts to contact her mother, Douglas's daughter alerted the police who found Douglas's body in her Pasadena condo.

O'Connor was later apprehended and charged with murder.

Douglas's daughters have since filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Los Angeles County, alleging that O'Connor was able to locate and murder Douglas due to negligence on the part of the LA County Department of Children and Family Services.

Pasadena's Collision Hotspots: Police Target Three Major Intersections

The Pasadena Police Department has highlighted three intersections in Pasadena as the most prone to vehicle collisions based on the data from October 2023.

These intersections include Orange Grove Blvd. and El Molino Avenue, Lake Avenue and Orange Grove Boulevard, and Pasadena Avenue and State Street.

Over the past six months, these intersections have been the site of 16 collisions.

The primary factors contributing to these accidents include unsafe speed, improper turning, and violation of traffic signals and signs.

The Department has taken measures to address the situation, including deploying more officers to these locations and improving intersection services.

Pasadena Rings in Holiday Season with Free Concert: Corona Symphony Orchestra to Perform

The Pasadena Tournament of Roses is set to host an enchanting holiday concert on Sunday, December 17 at the esteemed Tournament House.

The Corona Symphony Orchestra, a talented assembly of 26 musicians, will be performing at the event, with some performances taking place from an upstairs balcony for a unique visual experience.

The orchestra will be joined by the Bands of the Santiago Sharks, a 2024 Rose Parade marching band.

The event is anticipated to be a delightful celebration of the 2024 Rose Parade theme, "Celebrating a World of Music: The Universal Language.

In a significant sports achievement for Pasadena, Jacob Lee from Rose Bowl Aquatics has set a new record in the Boys 50-yard Breaststroke at the Winter Age Group Championships in Southern California.

Clocking an impressive 32.31 seconds, Jacob's victory is a reflection of his determination and hard work.

The Rose Bowl Aquatics center and the Pasadena community are celebrating this achievement, further reinforcing their commitment to nurturing young talents and promoting healthy competition.

This record-breaking performance adds another feather to Pasadena's cap, highlighting the city's dedication to fostering sportsmanship and talent development.

Pasadena's ArtCenter100 Milestone: $2.4M Raised to Boost Art and Design Education

The ArtCenter College of Design's financial support group, ArtCenter100, reached a significant $2.4 million milestone to aid the next generation of artists and designers.

Established in 1986, the group has consistently supported students like product designer William J. Sancho, making education more accessible.

Sancho, who discovered his passion for industrial design in Miami, will showcase his work at the Pasadena Convention Center during ArtCenter's Fall 2023 Grad Show.
