Pasadena's Unsolved Homicide: Reward Raised to $25,000

In an effort to solve the 2020 murder of Pasadena resident Ernesto Jimenez, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has increased the reward to $25,000 for any information that aids in the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Jimenez, 27, was gunned down near his residence in the evening of November 13, 2020. Despite initial efforts and a less substantial reward, the case remains unsolved.

The decision to increase the reward was announced this week, reflecting the continued quest for justice by local authorities, Jimenez's family, and the Pasadena community.

Local authorities are encouraging anyone with information about the case to come forward.

Detective Jordan Ling of the Pasadena Police Department can be reached at 626-744-4081.

For those who wish to remain anonymous, tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers online or by calling 800-222-TIPS.

Pasadena Sets Stage for Bioscience Transformation with Zoning Overhaul

The City of Pasadena is poised for a significant transformation within its bioscience sector, following the City Council's unanimous approval of strategic zoning changes.

These modifications, which include eased parking and building height restrictions, aim to facilitate the establishment and expansion of life science facilities, and redefine the concept of research and development in the city's zoning code.

This innovative approach, developed through collaboration with local industry leaders, nonprofit advocates, and real estate experts, is anticipated to attract investment, create job opportunities, and foster groundbreaking discoveries, further cementing Pasadena's status as an innovation-driven city.

Pasadena to Host World's First Fully Autonomous Restaurant

The Cali Group, known for its emphasis on utilizing technology to revolutionize the restaurant sector, is set to open the world's first fully autonomous restaurant, CaliExpress by Flippy, in Pasadena.

This technological marvel, created in partnership with Miso Robotics and PopID, uses proprietary artificial intelligence and robotics in both grill and fry stations.

Customers use PopID accounts to order at self-service kiosks, and can watch their meals being prepared by robotic chefs. The restaurant will serve freshly made burgers and fries.

Beyond customer service, the restaurant also creates a safer, simpler kitchen environment for its employees, who can manage the automated kitchen efficiently.

CaliExpress by Flippy is inviting local schools and educational groups for tours and is set to open later this month by reservation only.
