As we transition into the evening (6pm-11pm), the temperature gradually drops from 60° to a cooler 53°. The skies are partly cloudy and the wind, now coming from the east, maintains a calm 2 mph. A light sweater should keep you comfortable as we wind down the day.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena marked the fifth anniversary of the InSight lander's arrival on Mars by commemorating its many achievements.

These include the detection of over 1,300 seismic events, or "Marsquakes," and the transportation of the first magnetometer instrument to the Martian surface.

The InSight also collected the most comprehensive weather data of any Mars mission, and uncovered new information about the planet's ancient aquatic history.

The mission's primary objective was to study the deep interior of Mars, with the aim of understanding how a rocky body evolves into a planet.
