Pasadena's Small Businesses Shine on Small Business Saturday

Supporting Small Business

Small Business Saturday in Pasadena, California, proved to be a vibrant display of local retail resilience. Independent businesses across Old Pasadena participated in the event, offering a diverse range of handmade and locally produced products.

The event coincided with the Biden Administration's announcement of a $50 million aid from the American Rescue Plan aimed at more than 10,000 small businesses, along with a pledge to issue $50 billion in small business loans this year.

Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo highlighted the importance of supporting local small businesses, noting their role in job creation, boosting the local economy, and preserving neighborhood identities.

Pasadena's Rose Bowl Witnesses Bruins' Loss in Key Pac-12 Clash

In a critical Pac-12 match at Pasadena's Rose Bowl, UCLA Bruins were defeated 33-7 by Cal Berkeley.

The Bruins' offense struggled throughout the game, with four turnovers and quarterback Dante Moore sacked six times.

This performance contrasted sharply with their strong game against USC the previous week. The Bruins ended the regular season 7-5 overall and 4-5 in Pac-12, now awaiting their bowl game placement.

Despite a brief lead in the second quarter, the Bruins were unable to gain momentum, with Cal's defense proving resilient. The Golden Bears sealed their victory with a final field goal with 3:42 left on the clock.
