Pasadena Dog Owners Beware: Unknown Respiratory Illness Surfaces with 10 Reported Cases

The Los Angeles County health department is investigating a mystery respiratory disease in dogs.

The disease, known as aCIRD, is characterized by symptoms such as cough, sneezing, and lethargy.

To date, ten cases have been reported, all testing negative for common canine respiratory pathogens.

The department is in case-finding mode to determine the extent of this potential outbreak.

Dog owners are advised to monitor their pets closely for symptoms, seek veterinary care if symptoms present, and isolate affected dogs for at least 28 days from the onset of illness.

Cal-UCLA Rivalry Reaches Fever Pitch in Pasadena Showdown

The California Golden Bears are on the brink of securing a post-season bowl appearance as they prepare to take on the UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

This game, slated for Saturday, November 25, 2023, marks the end of the regular season and the final installment of the Cal-UCLA rivalry within the Pac-12 Conference for this year.

Pasadena Police Seeking Assistance in June 2023 Double Shooting Investigation

The Pasadena Police Department is seeking the community's help in investigating two connected attempted homicides that occurred in June 2023.

The first shooting was reported at 9:12 p.m. on West Peoria Street, and the second, 26 minutes later, near Marengo Avenue and Painter Street.

Two victims self-transported to a hospital from the first scene, and a man from the second scene was found with life-threatening injuries.

A baby, found unharmed in the man's car, had its car seat struck by gunfire. Investigators have identified a black Ford Fusion sedan as the suspect's vehicle.

Pasadena's Gamble House Unites Art and Charity in Annual Handmade Holiday

Christmas gifts

The Gamble House's annual Handmade Holiday event on Museum Store Sunday is set to host a variety of local artisans, showcasing their handmade crafts on November 26, 2023.

Exhibitors include both well-known and emerging local artists, with proceeds from sales benefitting The Gamble House.

In addition to shopping, the event will feature author signings, a paper flower demonstration, a cat adoption drive, and a coffee cart.

The event will also serve as a donation drive in collaboration with Pasadena For All, collecting items for the city's unhoused community.
