Pasadena Faces Traffic Chaos Following Bold Copper Wire Theft

The city of Pasadena experienced a grand theft incident that disrupted traffic at the Corson and Martello intersection on November 22nd.

The Pasadena Police were alerted by the Public Works Department, who discovered the theft of copper wire from an underground vault in the 2300 block of Corson.

The theft compromised the operation of the intersection's stoplight, causing traffic issues.

The perpetrators, the timing of the theft, and the value of the stolen copper wire are all currently unknown. This incident is one of several similar thefts reported recently.

Investigations are ongoing, and the Pasadena Police are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

The Pasadena Police Department (PPD) took a break from their traditional law enforcement duties this Thanksgiving to serve hot meals to the city's elderly residents.

The initiative, which spanned several locations throughout the city, was met with overwhelming appreciation from the community.

The Salvation Army supplied the meals, while Retired Sergeant Glen Thompson organized the PPD volunteers.

The PPD thanked all the volunteers who helped spread holiday cheer to the city's elderly community.

Pasadena's Union Station Homeless Services celebrated a significant milestone this Thanksgiving with their 53rd Annual Dinner in the Park.

The community event served an impressive 8,000 meals, double the number from the previous year.

This record-setting achievement was made possible by the tremendous contributions of sponsors, donors, volunteers, and supporters within the community.

While the increase in meals served is a testament to community support, it also casts a light on the burgeoning issue of food insecurity in the area.

Even in the face of such challenges, Union Station Homeless Services remains hopeful and grateful, encouraging the community to share in their gratitude.

Pasadena City College: A Thanksgiving Tribute to Indigenous Communities

Pasadena City College marked Thanksgiving uniquely by recognizing it as the National Day of Mourning.

The college sought to honor the historical and ongoing injustices faced by indigenous communities in society.

The college hosted Winds of the South, an all-women indigenous drum circle, to foster learning, healing, and reflection.

The group also highlighted the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women movement, emphasizing the importance of awareness and understanding.

As the holiday concluded, PCC highlighted the importance of its community, the #PCCLancers, and expressed gratitude for the collective journey of learning and growth.

$50,000 Edison Scholarship: A Game-Changer for Pasadena's Young Innovators

The Edison Scholars Program, funded by Edison International's shareholders, is inspiring high school seniors in Pasadena to pursue their passion in STEM fields.

The program offers a $50,000 college scholarship, and the recipients are also eligible for a summer internship at Southern California Edison after their first year of college.
