Generous Donation Boosts Pasadena Police Activities League

The Pasadena Police Department is celebrating a generous donation to its Police Activities League (P.A.L.) from a local real estate company, The Berns Team.

As part of its ongoing philanthropic efforts, The Berns Team selected the P.A.L. as the recipient of its 2023 award, contributing $5,000 to the organization.

A further $500 was raised at an event held by The Berns Team to honor local nonprofits, bringing the total donation to $5,500.

The funds will be used directly to support the Pasadena youth program, an initiative that promotes positive relationships between police officers and young people in the community through a range of activities.

From the Library Shelves to the Thanksgiving Table: Pasadena Library Shares Favorites

As Thanksgiving approaches, the staff at the Pasadena Public Library (PPL) shared their favorite dishes, books, movies, and music for the holiday.

The responses highlighted the diversity and vibrancy of the Pasadena community, with traditional American Thanksgiving classics, unique family recipes, and some unexpected favorites all coming to the fore.

From jellied cranberry sauce and Alton Brown's Thanksgiving turkey recipe to a cinnamon crumble apple pie and classics like 'All in the Family,' the PPL staff's Thanksgiving favorites reflect a rich blend of tradition and creativity.

As the holiday nears, they extend their gratitude to the Pasadena community for their continued support.

Make Memories at the 6th Annual Rose Bowl Turkey Trot

The Rose Bowl Stadium is set to host the 6th Annual Rose Bowl Turkey Trot, a popular Thanksgiving Day tradition.

The 5k race is open to everyone, including pets, and will take place around the Rose Bowl Stadium.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation, with all entry fees being 100% tax-deductible.

Participants also have the chance to donate to the Pasadena Unified School District's athletic programs.

Everyone will receive a race bib and medal, and the event encourages social media engagement through specific hashtags.

The race is not only about fitness but also about community involvement and celebration.

Audience Demand Extends 'Inherit the Wind' at Pasadena Playhouse, Cast Changes Imminent

Due to its overwhelming popularity, the Pasadena Playhouse's production of 'Inherit the Wind' will run for an additional week, ending on December 3.

This modern reimagining of the classic courtroom drama has been warmly received by audiences, sparking discussions about the play's themes online.

However, key cast members will step down after November 26, and replacements for the final week of performances will be announced in due course.
