Pasadena Police Recover Stolen Vehicle and Gun; Driver Arrested

In Pasadena, a stolen vehicle and a firearm were recovered during a late-night traffic stop.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Carlton Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, with two individuals detained.

The vehicle, which was also found to have stolen license plates, contained a stolen handgun in the passenger compartment.

The driver, identified as 30-year-old Jose Giron, was arrested and is facing charges for the stolen vehicle and the firearm.

The case remains open with Pasadena Police requesting anyone with additional information to come forward.

Dramatic Fire Incident Unfolds on Wellington Avenue: No Injuries Reported

On November 21, at around 7:30 p.m., the Pasadena Fire Department was alerted to a serious fire incident on the 1200 block of Wellington Avenue.

They arrived on the scene to find a vehicle fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading to an adjacent structure.

Despite the damage inflicted on the structure, there have been no reported injuries.

Residents have been advised to avoid the area while the emergency services work on extinguishing the fire and ensuring the location is safe.

Pasadena Mourns the Loss of its First Black Police Chief, James Robenson

James Robenson, the trailblazing first Black Police Chief in Pasadena, has died at 82.

Robenson joined the Pasadena Police Department in 1964 and worked his way up the ranks, eventually serving as the city's top cop from 1985 to 1990.

His tenure was marked by progress and innovation, including the creation of "The Pasadena Way," a philosophy prioritizing citizen safety and police effectiveness.

His influence extended beyond Pasadena, with his innovative policing strategies garnering national attention and international influence.

Among his notable achievements was the implementation of Photo Radar and the establishment of the first-ever Mounted Volunteer Police Unit.

Marshall Fundamental Senior Named in 2024 Tournament of Roses Royal Court

Trinity Dela Cruz, a senior from Marshall Fundamental School in Pasadena, has been announced as a member of the 2024 Tournament of Roses Royal Court.

A multi-talented student involved in numerous extracurricular activities and community services, Trinity's selection is a testament to her commitment to service and leadership.

The Royal Court members, serving as ambassadors for Pasadena and the Greater Los Angeles area, are presented with a $7,500 educational scholarship and personal development opportunities.

They will officially appear in the 135th Rose Parade and attend the 110th Rose Bowl Game on January 1, 2024.

A Thanksgiving Pause: Pasadena Libraries' Holiday Hours

Pasadena's public libraries will adjust their hours to observe the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

They'll close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, and will remain closed until Saturday, November 25.

During this period, the libraries' virtual services will continue to be available 24/7, allowing patrons to access digital books and resources at any time.

This change in schedule serves as a nod to the importance of maintaining traditions, even in a digital age.
