As we step into Thanksgiving week, the Pasadena Fire Department is alerting residents of upcoming wind conditions that could potentially lead to elevated fire weather conditions and power outages.

Forecasts show a transition to northeast Santa Ana winds from Monday to Tuesday, mainly affecting LA/Ventura Counties.

These conditions could lead to power outages from downed trees and powerlines, damage to temporary fences, and the displacement of loose or unsecured objects.

Driving may also become challenging, especially for larger vehicles.

The department urges residents to secure any potential loose objects and be prepared for possible power disruptions.

On Saturday, Nov. 18, a fatal shooting took place in Pasadena's Washington Park, claiming the life of 64-year-old Mickey Cooper, the brother of former Los Angeles Lakers player Michael Cooper.

The incident, which happened at around 4 a.m., was detected by the city's ShotSpotter alert system designed to identify potential gunshots.

Despite the immediate response of law enforcement, no arrests have been made so far.

The Cooper brothers have a history with the park, often playing basketball there during their childhood. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown.

The Pasadena Police Department is encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

Pasadena's Priciest and Largest Home Gets Price Cut

Pasadena's Knoll House, known for its record-breaking listing price of $48 million in 2021, is back on the market with a reduced price of $36.5 million.

The residence, designed by famed designers Myron Hunt and Gordon Kaufman, still holds the title as the priciest and largest single-family house in Pasadena.

The house, located in the city's poshest neighborhood, stands on a 2.38-acre plot.

The current owner, financier and philanthropist John Vidalakis, has spent over seven years restoring the house, which was once owned by televangelist Gene Scott.
