Storm Alert: Pasadena Braces for One to Two Storms This Week, Says National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has issued a weather alert for Pasadena, California, spanning from Wednesday to Friday, with the likelihood of one to two storms hitting the area.

The forecast indicates a 100% chance of rain, with a 70% probability of rainfall measuring between 1-3 inches.

Residents should remain alert as there is a 10% chance that the rainfall could escalate to 3-6+ inches. On the other hand, there is a 20% chance that the area may receive rainfall of one inch or less.

This weather pattern is most likely to occur between Wednesday and Friday, but the possibility extends from Tuesday to Saturday.

As a result of the storm, the region may experience potential flooding, heavy snow above 7000 ft, strong southerly winds, and high surf.

Residents are advised to clear out rain gutters, consider having a backup plan for any outdoor activities, avoid flooded roads, and stay up to date with the current forecast for any changes.

High School Students Implicated in Rose Bowl Locker Room Thefts

Four students from Beaumont High School are under suspicion for thefts which occurred during the October 28 football match between Colorado and UCLA at the Rose Bowl.

While no arrests have been made, the city's spokesperson, Lisa Derderian, revealed that the case has been passed to the District Attorney's Office that handles juvenile cases.

The Beaumont Unified School District expressed disappointment over the incident, emphasizing its commitment to promote strong character and integrity among its students.

The stolen items, including diamond-plated necklaces, headphones, and football equipment, have been partially returned, with police also recovering some items after serving a search warrant.

Pasadena High-Speed Chase Ends in Mystery, Investigation Underway

Lights in the night

In the early hours around 1:58 a.m., Pasadena Police officers noticed a Dodge Charger behaving irregularly on the road.

When they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle sped off, leading to a high-speed chase. The car maintained its high speed, making the officers lose sight of it.

They suspect the vehicle might have entered the 210 freeway. The pursuit was discontinued, and the suspect remains at large.

The investigation is still underway and the police are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

Major Grant of $759,200 Paves the Way for Pasadena's Citywide Active Transportation Plan

The Pasadena Department of Transportation has received a $759,200 grant from the U.S.

Department of Transportation. The funds will primarily be used for developing a Citywide Active Transportation Plan (ATP) that promotes active modes of transport and ensures safety for non-motorized users.

The ATP will incorporate existing plans and focus on improving bicycle infrastructure, pedestrian safety, and creating a comprehensive active transportation network.

The grant will also support community engagement initiatives, educational campaigns, and the ongoing evaluation of the plan.
